Our Policies
Medicines
Medicines must either be prescribed by a Doctor and/or we require a Nursery form to be completed ad signed. We must be informed of the times and quantity of medicine to be administered. Medicine must be brought in by parents, and clearly labelled with the child’s name. We keep careful records of medicines.
Behaviour
We encourage good behaviour by praise and explanation. The children soon learn what is expected of them and respond to reward, encouragement and disapproval. We never, under any circumstances, use physical punishment in any form. Should unsociable behaviour arise, we explain to the child why such behaviour is not acceptable. Parents are always informed of any behavioural concerns. A copy of our comprehensive Behaviour Management Policy is available from the Office.
Diversity Policy
Quality child care involves valuing every child equally, and affirming the positive value of different family groups, skin colours, genders, religious, cultural and family backgrounds. We aim to give children a realistic picture of the world they live in, and correct distortions and prejudices about that world. Parents are welcome to a copy of our Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policy.
Individual and Additional Needs Policy
We know that all children are individual and unique. We provide safe, stimulating play and education in an environment where individual needs are met by the expertise of our staff and a wealth of resources.
Concerns Procedure
Please bring any concern about your child or our child care practices to the attention of the Manager. We endeavour to rectify any concerns immediately, making changes if beneficial to the child. The Nursery Group Coordinator can be contacted via email at enquiries@children-first.com.
Safeguarding Children
Each child’s welfare, safety and protection are our primary concern. We have a comprehensive Child Protection Policy which is available from the office.
Birthdays
Birthdays are a special day for your child at Queens Baby Nursery and Queens Pre-School Day Nursery. Parents are very welcome to join our celebrations; there is always a gift and a card for the birthday child.
