Badgers
As children approach their third birthday we extend their development in preparation for our Pre-School Tigers group. The Badgers are taught by a Nursery Nurse with special expertise in the Montessori method in a very small group for part of each day.
The children in the Badgers Group are taught according to the Montessori principles which gives them the perfect foundation for pre-school learning. Their learning experiences include:
- English - phonetic teaching of the alphabet and the development of pre-reading and writing skills using specialist equipment,
- Mathematics - teaching of the concepts of numbers,
- Sensorial experiences - to enhance the development of children's' five senses which enable them to make rapid progress in learning,
- Practical life experiences - this teaching encourages independent thinking, and control, co-ordination and manipulative skills,
Topics - topics are carefully prepared so that the children develop a broad understanding of the world in which they live.
